This Is Me!

My name is Purity Nkwanyana. I am a 22 year old born and raised in Embalenhle (Mpumalanga) in a family of 4 girls and I am the last one to be born snd growing up my sisters made fun of me of how I'll forver be mom's pet because in my family the last borns get to spend a lot of time with their parent and doing what their parents wanted to when they were kids. It's funny how things turned out for me because my mother inspired me to be GREAT in everything I did instead of doing what she wanted. My old lady paved a way for me in discovering my true self. And this is Me!

Well in that time spent with my old lady, I uncovered that I am a very private person who enjoys reading and writing, music, travelling and everything that involves art and photography is my life and joy. Pictures, art paintings and sculptures bring joy in me because they tell silent yet very loud stories that other people won't understand.

I saw this 65ft statue in Devon when we went for vacation with my family back in 2009 and I instantly fell in love with it. It was made by Damien Hirst which created a lot of controversy in Devon, IIfracombe 20 years ago, and still some people find it hard to understand why a pregnant statue would carry a sword?  I think it shows great justice in the city against women and children abuse and also that women have the weapons to protect themselves and their children towards anything that comes their way to oppress them.

This is a picture I took last year beginning of  Spring. My mother said I have a "Good Eye" and therefore I must pursue my interest of photography into a career but I don't want it as my full time carrer even though I love travelling and seeing new interesting eye catching sights.

I believe that I  am an old soul due to my taste of music, I love soul train kinda music and old skool R&B(classics). My best artist are Luther Vandross, Jill Scott, Lauren Hill, Eryika Badu,Sam Salter, Atlantic Stars, Bebe & Cece, Gladys Knight, New Edition and my queen Whitney Houston. I got my taste of music from my mother and she has quite perfect sense in music more than anything else and these genres of music have groomed me a lot. Best song is by The late W. Enough about my interest. One question that I've been asked by a lot f people that I've met in my lifetime is "What is the one thing you could change about the world and why?" And my answer is The human mind, but then you may ask, how does that change come about? 

By honest effort to understand; to really now what id going on in someones heard. I am not trying to blame on someone. In fact I am prepared to turn inwards. I am prepare to say we are the cause of our so-called misery, nobody else causes it. There is no point of blaming it on anyone else but ourselves. My advice would be let us all as the world do a self introspection to find our true selves, love our inner beings and stop judging what we feel is wrong done by someone else. Lets give one another a chance to live freely and not under a stereotyped idea of what the world should be.
